Raptor High Temp Flameproof Primer is designed for use beneath compatible high-temperature flameproof paints on properly prepared metal surfaces. It helps create a consistent base for the topcoat and supports adhesion in demanding high-temperature applications, including suitable exhaust components.

Use this primer beneath compatible High Temp Flameproof Paint to help improve adhesion and create a suitable base for the topcoat. For a transparent finishing layer, use High Temp Flameproof Satin Clear after the coloured flameproof paint, where compatible.

How to apply

1. Clean and degrease the metal surface thoroughly.
2. Sand the surface with P180–P220 abrasive paper, then remove dust and clean again.
3. Shake the aerosol for at least 2 minutes before use.
4. Apply 2–3 light, even coats from approximately 25cm away.
5. Allow 10 minutes between coats.
6. The primer becomes touch dry in approximately 30 minutes at 20°C.
7. Apply compatible flameproof topcoat after 30 minutes, or allow the primer to dry for 1 hour before lightly sanding and cleaning if required.
8. Complete the full coating system and allow at least 4 hours to dry; overnight drying is recommended before heat curing.
9. For parts fitted to a vehicle, the manufacturer’s curing process involves running the engine at idle for at least 30 minutes, allowing it to cool, then running it under normal conditions for at least 30 minutes. Removed parts can be oven-cured according to the manufacturer’s specified temperature and time.
